Slathia visits flood affected areas
VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Surjeet Singh Slathia on Friday visited border villages Barota, Kamore, Kamore Camp, Rangoor Camp and Nanga and expressed deep shock over the loss of properties of poor people of the border villages. He assured the people that every possible help shall be extended to the people by the government. Due to heavy rains many families have been trapped in the flash flood causing damage to the properties and human lives. He asked the administration to carry rescue operation on war footing basis so that the lives of human beings and their properties would be saved.
Slathia said that according to weather forecasting more rains are predicted in Jammu and surrounding areas. He also issued instructions to the concerned to make the necessary arrangements to face the natural calamity and to provide relief and shelter, food, medicines to the effected families. He assured the people of the area that the district administration is on full alert to face the eventualities and provide all possible help to the people of border villages.
Slathia also expressed shock and grief over the tragic accident that has led to death of more than 50 passangers in area of Rajouri District. It is painful and tragic accident in which so many precious lives have been lost. He prayed to Almighty to give them strength to bear the irreparable loss of their family members.
