VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and MLA Surjit Singh Slathia on Sunday inaugurated various development works completed in his home constituency Vijaypur.
The MLA inaugurated construction of lanes and drains in Ward No. 8 and 13, which have been completed at the cost of Rs.9 lakh by Municipal Committee, Vijaypur under the scheme IDMT and District Plan.
He also inaugurated newly constructed additional block at Government Primary School, Vijaypur which has been completed at the cost of Rs.9.45 lakh under the scheme Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
Earlier, Slathia inaugurated six additional class rooms and two rooms for staff members in Government Middle School, Bari Brahamana completed at the cost of Rs.23 lakh under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
He also inaugurated bath room in Government Middle School, Vijaypur completed at the cost of Rs.2 lakh. The said amount has been spent out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking at the inauguration functions, Slathia said that during the last five and a half years many schools have been upgraded to the next level to provide better education facilities to the children at their door steps. He said that Vijaypur Constituency has witnessed massive development in all the sectors. Slathia said that the higher academic and technical education facilities are being upgraded across the State especially in rural areas.
Later , Slathia also inaugurated construction of pond and lanes and drains in village Gho-Brahamana, which have been completed at the cost of Rs.25 lakh executed by Rural Development Department.
While speaking on the occasion Slathia said that several developmental works are under execution in Vijaypur Constituency which shall greatly benefit the people of the area and adjoining villages.
He also inaugurated a park at village Rari constructed at a cost of Rs.15 lakh by Rural Development Department.
Municipal Committee, Vijaypur, ZEO Vijaypur, Chairman, Sodagar Gupta, Ganesh Sharma, Sarpanch Ram Paul and Sarpanch Rakesh Kumar were also present on the occasion.
