JAMMU: To condole the untimely demise of former solicitor –general and senior advocate of Supreme Court Altaf Hussein, a meeting of the State Legal Aid Committee (SLAC) was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Bhim Singh here on Monday.
Prof. Bhim Singh in his condolence message to Altaf Hussein’s family said, “Altaf was a great friend, human rights activist and a kind hearted person who devoted much of his time in serving and giving free legal aid to the needy and the poor particularly to the depressed people of Kashmir. In his death, I have lost a great and trusted friend whereas the people of J and K have lost a great champion of freedom and human rights”. The State Legal Aid Committee, Panthers Party and friends in a condolence message expressing sympathy with the family of the deceased prayed for peace in the heavens to the departed soul.
