JAMMU: On the eve of Makar Sakaranti, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) today released first time the Teaching Association Calendar-2016 at a function held at Administrative Building, Main Campus Chatha of SKUAST-Jammu.
The New Year Calendar-2016 was released by the Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, Dr. Pardeep Kumar Sharma who also congratulated office bearers of Teaching Association for this historical step. Dr. Vikas Sharma, President of SKUAST-TAJ, said that the calendar has been prepared with photographs of major events and achievements of Teaching Association which highlight the performance of organisation.
Dr Vikas further informed that besides ex-presidents of SKUAST-TAJ, the calendar also contains the photographs of eminent scientists of SKUAST-Jammu, who contributed a lot for the development of this only farm/professional varsity of Jammu region.
“We have many more initiatives in the pipeline to rejuvenate the association and attune its functioning to the fast changing scenario”, he said and added that SKUAST TAJ will soon publish a booklet exclusively on salient achievements of association and will start “Tweeting” to attain a full-fledged run on Information Superhighway.
The Vice Chancellor expressed hope that the association will work for the betterment of teaching fraternity which will help the university to achieve academic, research and extension excellence in near future.
Dr J.P Sharma-Director Research, Dr T.S Ganai-Director Education, Dr B.B Gupta-Registrar and other members of association such as Joint Secretary Dr. P.K Rai; Publicity Secretary Dr Devinder Sharma; Treasurer Dr. Rajeev Sangra; Executives Dr. Jai Kapoor, Dr. Poonam Parihar, Dr Anil Bhatt and Dr Biswajeet Brahma, who designed the calendar, were present.
