JAMMU: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) added yet another feather to its cap by launching Wi-Fi connectivity with the speed up to 100mpbs at its campus.
Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu, launched the Wi-Fi service through National Knowledge Networks (NKN) at the University’s Data Centre.
Dr. Manish Sharma, Nodal officer NKN and Data Centre on the launching of Wi-Fi services briefed the university administration about availability of dynamic website, which will allow scientists to update their information regarding ongoing projects & other research activities.
Prof. Sharma hoped that the new facility will help students and faculty members to improve their technology skills. He dedicated the Central Wi-Fi service to faculty, research scholars and students. He advised for making other campuses of SKUAST Wi-Fi.
Others who were present include Dr. D.P Abrol, Dean Faculty of Agriculture; Dr. K.S Risam, Director Extension; Dr. J.P Sharma, Director Research; Dr. Deepak Kher, Project Planning and Monitoring Officer; Dr S.K Sen, Comptroller, Head of Divisions of Faculty of Agriculture and Dr ViKas Sharma, President SKUAST-TAJ, the technical staff, Dr. Komal Bhat, Programmer Hardware; Pankaj Sharma, Programme Assistant and Atulya Giri, Programmer Software.
