SKUAST-J Scientist gets Young Scientist Award

DODA: Dr Narinder Paul, Scientist Agriculture Extension, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Doda, Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) received Young Scientist Award from Indian Society of Extension Education (ISEE), Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi for outstanding work in the field of extension research and field extension services during ISEE National Seminar 2017.

He presented his paper on ‘Village level farmer organisations in doubling farmers income through convergence mode and participatory extension’ and shared the experiences of farmer clubs being promoted by the KVK Doda in the district which act as convergence platform for integration of all the stakeholders for awareness, micro-financing and technology transfer.

The seminar was held by ISEE on ‘Doubling farmers’ income and farm productivity through skill development and technology application’ from November 28-30, 2017 at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur) Bihar. It had gracious presence of galaxy of eminent scientists including Dr Ajoy Kumar Singh Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour, Dr GS Trivedi former Vice Chancellor RAU, Dr Baldeo Singh, former Joint Director Extension IARI and President ISEE, Dr Kartar Singh former Head CATAT, Dr KL Dangi, Professor MPUAT Udaipur, Dr MM Adhidari, Dean COA BCKV, West Bengal, Dr RK Sohane, Dr Anjani Kumar, Director ICAR-ATARI Patna, Dr SR Singh, Dr RN Padaria, Dr JP Yadav, Executive Council members of the Society and more than 250 scientists from across the country. During the seminar deliberations were held on the policy issues, technology options and technology transfer mechanisms for integrating technology and skill promotion in the farm sector for realising the objective of doubling farmers’ income within the assigned time frame by the year 2022.
