Ski course for special boys concludes

SRINAGAR: A 10- day snow ski course for specially abled boys concluded at Gulmarg today with 15 boys drawn from different parts of the Valley taking part. This short ski course was organised by Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir (WGAJK) in collaboration with All J and K Sports Association of the Deaf.
The training programme was sponsored by the J and K State Sports Council.
On the successful conclusion of the camp a skill test was held among the participants by the experts of the association. Amir Rouf bagged first position while Amir Altaf and Munaqib remained second and third respectively.
Shabir Ahmad Wani was Chief Guest, who distributed medals among the winners. Among others present were Gulmustafa Dev, A.R Tantray, G.M Dar and Mohamad Saleem.
Earlier the participants gave a breath-taking demonstration on ski techniques which was witnessed by scores of tourists and other enthusiasts.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of WGAJK, Muhammad Yusuf expressed his gratitude to State Sports Council, Tourism Department, Gulmarg Development Authority, All J and K Sports Association of the Deaf and Cable Car Corporation for their support to make this special event a grand success.
