SJM protests, demands withdrawal of new FDI policy

JAMMU: Expressing its deep anguish and protest on the recent decision of the government to relax FDI norms in various sectors of the economy, Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) , Jammu and Kashmir, held a protest against the BJP led Government demanded immediate withdrawal of new FDI policy.
“SJM believes that the decision to allow 100% FDI in food processing and marketing of agriculture produced in India is actually a decision to open FDI in retail sector which is not only against the manifesto of BJP (2014), but also attacks the livelihood of small food processing units,” State Convenor SJM, Pawan Baru, who led the protest, said.
Saying that Indian pharmaceutical industry provides affordable drugs not only to the poor people of India but to the people of more than 200 countries, he said by allowing 100 per cent FDI in Brown Field Pharma sector Industry, government has allowed multinational sharks to gallop Indian Pharma industry. SJM District Convenor Sewa Ram appeal to the masses of India to boycott Chinese products as China is using profits from Indian Market to hamper our national interest and opposing India on various international forum and supporting Pakistan to increase terrorist activities in India. SJM demanded white paper on cost and benefits of foreign investment in the country.
