Six drug peddlers held, 1,350 intoxicating capsules, Charas recovered

JAMMU/ Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested six drug peddlers and recovered 1,350 intoxicating capsules besides 344 grams of Charas in three separate incidents.
SHO Police Station City laid a Naka at Ragunath Mandir Chowk and intercepted one motorcycle bearing registration No JK06/8827 in which two persons were traveling.
During checking, police recovered about 1,350 intoxicating capsules were recovered from their possession.
The arrested the both the persons who have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Lal Din and Javid Ahmed, son of Din Mohammad both the resident of Kashtigarh area of District Doda.
Police registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile Srinagar Police also arrested two drugs peddlers and recovered prescription drugs from their possession.
Acting on specific information, a police party headed by SHO Achabal, Feroz Ahmad during naka checking apprehended a man identified as Lateef Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammad Qasim Shah, resident of Nambal Mattan. During checking, 15 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 23/2017 under Section 8/22 NDPS Act was registered against him and further investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile, a police party headed by DO Police Post General Bus Stand apprehended another drug peddler identified as Afaiz Ahmad Khan alias Raju Khan, son of Mohammad Yousf Khan, resident of Seer Ham during Naka checking near SNDS Adda.
Police recovered eight bottles of prescription drugs from his possession. A case has been registered against him and further investigating is on.
Meanwhile, Samba police also arrested two drug peddlers and recovered around 344 grams of Charas from their possession.
