KATHUA: Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing six bovines from the clutches of the smuggler.
On the intervening night of 12th -13 November 2016, during a Naka by Ghagwal Police headed by SHO Ghagwal SI Rajeshwar Singh at Tapyal Morh, a truck (HP73/1725) which was coming from Kathua side was signalled to stop but driver sped away. The Police party chased the truck and intercepted it near Suandha Morh. On checking, six bovines were found loaded. The truck was seized and case vide FIR No.95/2016 under sections 188RPC 2/3PC Act,179/183/184 MV Act was registered. Driver of the truck fled from spot taking advantage of darkness. Manhunt is on to nab the accused driver, the police said.
