SIU raids houses of 6 terrorists from PoK in Kishtwar

Kishtwar: The Special Investigation Unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday raided houses of six terrorists at various places in Kishtwar district in connection with a terror funding case.
Addressing Media, SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal said that the raids are carried out in accordance with the non-bailable warrants obtained from Special NIA Court against Kishtwar-based terrorists, who are operating from Pakistan and PoK.
“The raids are part of mission to dismantling the terror funding network especially those operating from Pok and Pakistan,” said SSP Poswal.
Kishtwar Police’s SIU led by senior officers are conducting raids in far-off areas as well as in Kishtwar town since morning.
Poswal informed that the raids are being conducted at six places of the district including Singpura, Beighpura, Sewa and Deller areas of Chatroo, Naryan area of Chingam and Umar Mohalla of Kishtwar town.
The raids were carried out at six locations including in the houses of Manzoor Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ali, resident of Singpura Chatroo; Nazir Ahmed, son of Mohammed Akbar Sheikh, resident of Beighpura Singhpura Chatroo; Shabir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohd Rishi, resident of Sewa Chatroo; Mohammed Iqbal Rishi, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Deller Chatroo: Mohammed Amin Bhatt, son of Ghulam Qadir Bhatt, resident of Naryan Chingam and Mohammed Iqbal, son of Mohammed Akber, resident of Kichloo Market Kishtwar, at present Umar Mohalla Kishtwar. According to SSP, coordinated searches began at around 8 a.m. Digital evidence along with hard copies of documents are being thoroughly analysed.
“The raids are being conducted in case FIR No 227/2022, in which NIA court has issued non bailable warrants against 36 Kishtwar based terrorists operating from Pok and Pakistan,” he added.
SSP Kishtwar informed that a total 22 houses of terrorists operating from Pok and Pakistan have been raided since last two months after getting non-bailable warrants against 36 Kishtwar based terrorists operating from PoK and Pakistan.
“Smartphones through which terrorists contact their family members and friends have been seized during raids,” SSP added.
“Families and friends, who are in constant touch with terrorists operating from PoK/Pakistan will face action under UAPA,” Poswal said.
No news of arrest of any person or attachment of any property has been reported so far.
During the course of searches, the evidences collected shall be investigated so as to subject the accused persons to judicial determination for their involvement in anti-national activities and perpetuation of terrorism.
The SSP Kishtwar disclosed that all those supporter/associates of terrorists whose involvement surfaces during investigations shall also be prosecuted.
He said that searches are aimed at eliminating the terror ecosystem in the district by identifying various over-ground workers and supporters of terrorism.
