AKHNOOR: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor won the league match and entered in the quater-finals of the ongoing Shaheed Lt Thakur Dass Memorial Cricket Tournament being organised by Akhnoor Sports Club under the overall supervision S.S Langeh, General Secretary District Jammu JKCA at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, on Sunday.
Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor beat Krishna Cricket Club Akhnoor by four wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Krishna Cricket Club scored 179 runs for the loss of seven in 20 overs. Vinod was the top scorer with 69 runs followed by Pardeep and Anil, who contributed 41 and 17 runs respectively. For Singh Cricket Club, Sunny grabbed three wickets while Binny Kesar claimed two.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club chased the target making 182 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs, courtesy brilliant 65-run knock by Chandan Sharma. Manik Sharma made 42 and J.V. Singh remained not out at 10 runs.
For Krishna Cricket Club, Pardeep Singh scalped two wickets while Anil, Danny, Yogesh and Morris got one each.
For his match winning inning, Chandan Sharma was declared Man of the Match.
Today’s match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali as umpires and Rohit and Arjun as scorers.
