JAMMU: Simula Cricket Club and Shastri Cricket Club won their respective matches to move into the next round of the KC Sports Club (KCSC) Winter Cup Cricket Tournament, here on Sunday.
In the first match, Simula defeated hosts KCSC by two wickets. Batting first, KCSC made 162 runs for three wickets with Suryansh Raina and Surya Mohtra being highest run getters with 62 and 41 in their respective accounts. For Simula, Gulzar and Vicky shared one wicket each.
In reply, Simula chased the total in 19.5 overs for eight wickets. Gulzar (33), Prince (26) and Hilal Rather (23) remained highest scorers. For KCSC, Vishvjeet claimed three wickets, followed by Vivek and Aman, who shared two each.
Meanwhile, in other match of the day, Shastri Club defeated Market Bulls Cricket Club by a comfortable margin of 48 runs.
Earlier, Shastri Club made 106 runs. Raju, Awash and Deepak were main contributors to the total with 26, 20 and 19 runs in their respective accounts.
For Market Bulls, Monu bagged four wickets and Ashu took three. Later, Market Bulls could not face the bowling wrath of Shatri and collapsed at a total of 57 runs. Anchal and Sunny were most successful bowlers for Shastri Club with three wickets each while Vicky claimed two. Shastri won the match by 48 runs.
