Simula lifts KC Sports Club Cup

JAMMU: Simula Club on Wednesday clinched the KC Sports Club Cup Cricket Tournament making it a nine-run victory against New Challenger Club at KC Public School Ground, here.
Earlier, Simula won the toss, decided to bat first and set a target of 129 runs with Puneet and Hardeep Singh being top scorers, who contributed 33 and 32 runs respectively. For New Challenger Club, Vishwajeet and Aman shared three wickets each.
In reply, New Challenger innings ended at nine runs short of opponent total at 120. Manjeet and Sahil remained highest run getters with 23 and 20 runs in their respective accounts. For Simula Club, Vikram took three wickets, followed by Kulwinder and Gulzar, who shared two each.
Later, Hardeep Singh of Simula Club was declared Man of the Match. The match was officiated by Saddiq Huasain, Tarsem and Rajinder.
In the final and valedictory function, Additional Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh was Chief Guest, who gave away title trophies and other individual prizes.
Speaking to the gathering, Chief Guest complimented the KC Sports Club for promoting sports among youth of the State.
He also took a guided tour of KC Sports Club and expressed his satisfaction with regard to the indoor sporting facilities.
