Sikh Sangat holds peace march in Poonch

POONCH : Sikh Sangat of Poonch under the aegis of Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Poonch and Dashmesh Sikh Youth Organisation held a ‘silent peace march’ demanding release of over 100 Sikh political prisoners languishing in various Punjab jails.
The march which passed through main bazaar Poonch reached the office of Deputy Commissioner Poonch where a memorandum of demands was handed over to Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Shafiq Ahmed.
The protesters in this memorandum supported the cause of 54 days long strike ‘fast unto death’ by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa demanding release of over 100 Sikh political prisoners and implementation of rehabilitation policy already introduced in other states including Jammu and Kashmir.
Prominent among those present in the march were President Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Chairman Dashmesh Sikh Youth Organisation Surjan Singh, President Gurdeep Singh,Onkar Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Daljeet Singh and Balwinder Singh.
