SIE holds divisional level painting competition

Painting Competition STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: Social Science Wing of State Institute of Education (SIE) Jammu organised a Divisional Level Painting Competition on the themes ‘Save the Girl Child’, ‘Historical Monuments’, ‘Disaster Management’ and ‘Save our Planet’ here on Friday.

Joint Director (Trainings)/Principal SIE Jammu supervised the event.

The objective behind conducting this painting competition was to inculcate aesthetic and latent talents among young students.The programme was inaugurated by Saroop Kumar Raina, Senior Field Advisor of SIE Jammu who exhorted the participants to take opportunity of participating in such activities which are necessary for the overall development of personality of the child. The co-curricular activities, games, yoga, dance and paintings etc all helps to teach values for life and affects the character and conduct of child. Earlier, welcome address was presented by Kulwant Kour Field Advisor SIE Jammu and Incharge Social Science Wing.

Akram Khan, Ankush Kesar and Richa Gupta were the adjudicators.

Kapil Dev (9th Class) from GHS (Mand) Udhampur bagged the first prize, while Neha Devi (9th Class) from the same school bagged the second prize and the third prize went to Anuradha (9th Class) from GHS Chadwal Kathua.

Consolation prizes were awarded to Neha Sharma (GHSS Barwal) Kathua, Abinash Kumar (GHSS Smailpur Samba) and Preeti Jasrotia (GHSS Barwal Kathua).

The programme was co-ordinated by Tapasya Sharma, Research Officer SIE Jammu and logistic support was provided by Amita Gandotra and Parvaiz Hussain Bhat.
