JAMMU: The Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) re-elected Sidharth Daluja as President and Kunal Magotra as General Secretary during a meeting of its Executive Body and General Body members held at Hotel Lemon Tree, Jammu. The elections, conducted unanimously, were for the term 2026–2030, reflecting strong consensus and confidence in the leadership of the Association.
Along with Sidharth Daluja and Kunal Magotra, Amir Bhat and Gurbaksh Singh Gill (Col. Retd.) were elected as Vice Presidents, Mohd Tariq as Treasurer, and Kamal Sharma and Mudasir Ahmad Dar as Joint Secretaries , executive members 1. Romesh kumar , Ashok Padha, Abdul Majeed Dar , Abdul Hamid Malik and Mutahir Shabir The newly constituted team is expected to continue its efforts to promote and strengthen volleyball across Jammu and Kashmir.
The general council meeting of the Association was co-chaired by Raj Daluja, Patron-in-Chief and Sidharth Daluja President.
Advocate Anshuja Tak, the Returning Officer/Observer, conducted the proceedings of the election process and announced the results in the presence of observers Javaid Ur Rehman, J&K Sports Council (JKSC) (Central), and Vikas Gupta, nominated by J&K Olympic Association, in the gathering of the office bearers of the Executive Committee-cum-General Body Meeting members of VAJK.
Hailing the initiative of Secretary, J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul, the returning officer revealed the elections have been conducted as per latest Sports Code and as per Constitution of VAJK.
Earlier, in the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the minutes of the last meeting, report of the General Secretary, audited statement of accounts were confirmed. The office bearers of the existing VAJK were dissolved to pave the way for the election of new office bearers for the term 2026–2030.
Raj Daluja, Patron-in-Chief of VAJK, reaffirmed the vision and mission of the Association for upholding the image of Volleyball in J&K. Sidharth Daluja, newly elected President, was greeted with enthusiasm by all office bearers of VAJK, who reassured the members to continue his wholeheartedly support of Volleyball within and outside the J&K Union Territory.
Sidharth Daluja, thanked all outgoing office bearers for their continuous support to keep the flag high of volleyball in J&K and expected the new team to discharge their assigned duties gracefully in the near future.
The President also disclosed various comities for the smooth conduct of the day to day work of the Association shall be constituted to seek the advice of stalwarts and professional experts of Volleyball game in near future.
