Shrine Board cuts copter fare from April 1

KATRA: As part of its continuing endeavour to provide improved services to the pilgrims visiting the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has been taking many initiatives.
Consequent to sustained endeavours of Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, the helicopter fare for Katra-Sanjichhat and return, from 1st April 2017 onwards, shall be less than it was in the past three years.
Briefing Governor N.N Vohra, Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, CEO stated that after pursuing an entirely transparent bidding process the one-way passenger fare for heli-travel between Katra and Sanjichhat will be Rs. 1,077 (inclusive of taxes) as against the existing fare of Rs 1170 per passenger (inclusive of taxes). The new rates shall be applicable from 1st April 2017.
CEO informed that the contract has been awarded to the two successful bidders i.e, M/s Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd and M/s Himalayan Heli Services Pvt. Ltd. for operation of heli-services in the Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra Sector. These two operators have been providing heli-services to the pilgrims for the past three years (2014-17).
