Shri Amarnath Yatra 2015 Governor reviews status of Chandanwari-Sheshnag track

SRINAGAR: As directed by the Governor, N.N Vohra, who is Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board(SASB), Jitendra K. Singh, Additional CEO, SASB, R.K. Pandita, GM (Works), Mohd. Aslam, SDM Pahalgam, and other concerned officers undertook a day long visit to Sheshnag Camp.
In a review meeting held here today the Governor discussed with P.K Tripathi, CEO, about the status of Chandanwari- Sheshnag track.
Jitendra K. Singh, Addl CEO, informed the Chairman that work on the restoration/improvement of track from Chandanwari to Sheshnag is underway; the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) has started track clearance and around 50 labourers are working for snow and track clearance of the path from Chandanwari to Sheshnag.
The snow accumulation in the area of Sheshnag Camp and helipad is expected to be cleared in the 4-5 days; out of SASB’s 12 huts at Sheshnag Camp, 4 have been erected and work is ongoing on the remainder 8; work is ongoing to erect toilets and baths at the Sheshnag Camp and to repair PDA’s pucca structures at Pissu Top and Zozibal. It was informed that SASB has installed 98 toilets and 189 baths at Chandanwari, 32 toilets and 68 baths at Pissu Top, 18 toilets at Zozibal/Nagakoti and 57 toilets and 320 baths at Sheshnag Camp.
The Governor was informed that the work on the construction of shelter shed by PWD at Chandanwari Access Control Gate is underway.
It was reported that Army’s communication system has been made operational up to Zozibal and it is expected to be made operational within a day or two at Sheshnag. BSNL has also made the mobile towers at Chandanwari operational while the mobile towers for Sheshnag are under transportation.
The Governor has directed CEO to daily review and inform him about the progress of all repair/renovation work which is presently underway from Chandanwari onwards and at the Sheshnag Camp site. As earlier directed, the Addl. CEO and GM Works have since proceeded to Panjtarni.
The Governor has fixed a meeting on 16th June to review progress of the Domel-Sangam-Panjtarni track and the repair work which is ongoing at Panjtrani Camp.
