Short film ‘Sapney’ hits silver screen in Jammu

JAMMU: S V Films and Leeward Graphics on Sunday released short film Sapney at KC Cineplex in Jammu. Several eminent media personalities and people from other walks of life watched the film and appreciated the performance of cast and crew. Written and directed by Sandeep Verma, Sapney conveyed a striking message that we all must respect and obey our parents. The short film portrays that whatever be the reason we must not let our parents down. Sapney, a short duration film is a must watch film for everyone as it gives a very vital lesson that nothing is more important than parents as they spend and sacrifice their everything for their children and must be given love, affection and respect when they become old. The actors who performed in movie include J.R Sagar, Usha Slathia, Akashi Katoch, Sanyam Pandoh, Tovin Kumar, Vivek Sangotra and Ridhima Singh. Sourav Verma gave art direction; Vivek Sangotra, Tovin Kumar and Rohit Sangotra were production controllers, Director of Production was Prashant Singh and Assistant DoP was Sharavan Kumar, Prashant Singh did editing, Vivek Sangotra was Assistant director and the movie was produced by Sandeep Verma and Prashant Singh. The director of the short film has been doing theatre for the last 10 years with Amateur Theatre Group and has participated in many national and international Theatre festivals. He has acted in 3 Bollywood films and scores of serials for Doordarshan and Life OK Channel. Beautifully conceptualized and a very well executed, the short film was screened at KC Cineplex auditorium. This is for the first time that a short film was screened in a cinema hall of Jammu City. The director of the short film said that many new projects are underway and soon more movies will be released in near future.
