Shivanshi retains Open Chess Champion title

UDHAMPUR: Showing composure and extraordinary chess skills, young champion Shivanshi once again successfully retained her Chess Champion title in her name after beating opponent in 40th District Udhampur and Computer Point Women Open Chess Championship 2016.
The championship was organised by District Udhampur Chess Association under the aegis of All J and K State Chess Association at Computer Point Technologies Institute, here on Monday.In a tough fight Shivanshi, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Udhampur, shown some fantastic moves and continued her claim on Computer Point Open Title -2016 Championship by defeating Shabnam in the final.
Under-school category, Renu played with champion skills and won the Champion Title defeating Shikha who remained runner up in the event. It is pertinent to mention here that Shivanshi is a youngest chess champion title holder of State and student of Kendriya Vidhalya No. 1 is eight year old who contested directly for open challenge category and also hold many chess camps to train other chess players of District. Today matches was officiated by Simran and Pooja. “All players and guests are invited for Prize Distribution function tomorrow” said District Udhampur Chess Association official.
