JAMMU: Joint Secretary J and K State Sports Council and President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma has been re-elected as president of Senior Citizen’s Welfare Forum Katra.
To constitute new body the election was conducted through secret ballots under the guidance of Braham Saroop Sharma (Retd. Principal) Returning Officer and Shubh Dutt Puri (Retd. ZEO) and Chaney Ram (Retd. ZEO) Assistant Returning Officers.
Sukhdev Singh has been elected as Senior Vice President, Rattan Singh Manhas General Secretary, Mohan Lal Sharma Secretary and Om Parkash Magotra Treasurer.
Out of total 58 members, only 44 have participated in election process in which Shiv Kumar Sharma elected as president with 100 per cent votes. The tenure of the newly constituted is for two years. Sharma assured all the members to serve the society with full spirit and zeal watching all the problems of members being faced in and around Katra township and its surroundings like social evils of society.
All the elected representative thanked the general body of forum showing faith to belief upon them and stressed that they will work for the forum with heart and soul. Newly elected forum welcomed Neelam Khajuria on her joining as Sub Divisional Magistrate Katra with the hope that her services for the residents of Katra Sub Division may lead towards the achievements of progress with the blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi.
