Shastri urges LG to introduce Sanskrit in newly established colleges

JAMMU: Urging Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha to introduce Sanskrit language in newly established colleges, President, Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan (SKJAVS) Trust, Mahant Rohit Shastri on Friday asked for retaining vacancies for Sanskrit language in MAM and Women College Parade.
In a communication addressed to Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary to LG, President SKJAVS Trust, said that Sanskrit language has once again suffered a setback in J&K. Referring to Government order number 435-JK (HE) of 2020 dated December 14, 2020, he said, “Government has transferred two posts of Sanskrit, one from MAM College and one from Women College Parade to A S College Srinagar & W C M A Road Srinagar. Government’s initiative to teach Sanskrit in Kashmir is really appreciable but post of Sanskrit in MAM College as well as Women College Parade Jammu should be retained.
Moreover, 51 new colleges were established last year in J&K but Sanskrit has not been introduced in any of these colleges.”
