Shantmanu assesses flood relief measures
JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu, convened a high level meeting of senior officers to review the relief measures being taken up for flood victims.
The meeting was attended by DDC Jammu, A. K. Sahu, IGP Jammu, Rajesh Kumar, DIG Jammu-Kathua, Shakeel Ahmad Beig, ADC Jammu, K.S. Parihar, Director Industries, Dr. A Rashid, GM, SRTC, R.S. Jamwal, SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand, SSP (PCR), J.S Johar, SP (HQ) Jammu Randheer Singh, Assistant Commissioner (C), S.D Singh, GM, JKTDC, Susheel Attri, GM, Super Bazaar Ram Kesh Sharma besides other concerned officers.
It was informed in the meeting that food packages, water bottles and other relief material is being dispatched to Kashmir and coordinated efforts are being made to ensure that information is provided to the families of the rescued people in Jammu.
Divisional Commissioner informed that a relief cell for Kashmir division has been set up in the office of General Manager JKTDC with its Nodal Officer. All queries with regard to Kashmir division can be made on telephone numbers 0191-256 5838, 2565848, 2576594.
Besides, information can also be sought through SMS on phone numbers 9419212447 and 9469300300.
It was also informed that JKTDC and PCR will coordinate to collect and disseminate every information pertaining to the rescued persons. The Tourism Department has also been directed to made adequate arrangements of boarding and lodging for those rescued to Jammu.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration to tackle with the situation arisen due to heavy rains and floods.
