Shamsher for increasing green cover of Jammu

JAMMU: Former State President BJP and Member Parliament Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas on Sunday started plantation drive at Palora Park near Raina Higher Secondary School, Paloura, here. He was accompanied by District Forest Officer (DFO) Neha Sharma and other officials of Forest Department on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Manhas said that the Central Government has already given a target to his party workers and social activists for the plantation of plants upto Rs 10 lakh across Jammu and Kashmir State. He also encouraged others to follow the same and increase the cover of green in Jammu by planting more and more trees.
Manhas further said that it is the duty of every individual to take care of our environment and preserving it for the future generations. He also urged every citizen to plant a tree in the name of each child in their family for a better future.
BJP Senior Leaders Kuldeep Magotra, Ashwani Bali, Bahadur Singh, Joginder Singh, Ashok Singh, Bharat Bushan, Bishan Sharma, Uttam Singh, Ghar Singh, Ranjana Kher and prominent people of the area were also present.
