Sham Lal inspects roads, reviews development projects in Jammu North Constituency

JAMMU: MLA Jammu North and former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma, conducted a comprehensive inspection of several critical roads within the constituency to address infrastructure issues and ensure better connectivity for the residents.

The inspection covered important routes, including Mishriwala to Bhalwal, Mishriwala to Purkhoo (along the canal bank), Purkhoo to Kot Road, Raipur to Domana Road, and Patoli to Gurha Brahmana Bantalab Road.
During the inspection, Sharma tested the quality of ongoing and completed work, emphasizing the need for qualitative standards in all developmental projects.
He directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for all upcoming road and development projects within the constituency and to submit them to the relevant departments promptly.
He stressed that this would ensure timely allocation of funds in the coming years to accelerate the progress of key initiatives.
Sham Lal said, “Our focus is not just on repairing and maintaining existing infrastructure but also on planning future projects to meet the evolving needs of our constituency. Public participation and addressing grievances are key to the success of developmental initiatives. I am committed to ensuring that the people of Jammu North benefit from high-quality infrastructure and well-planned development programs.”
Sharma was accompanied by Executive Engineer Sunil Thasu from the Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department, AEE Jal Shakti Department, AEE Irrigation Department & Flood Control Department , Officials from Rural Development Department and other officials.
The MLA also instructed the officials to ensure that public grievances are heard actively and that future projects and programs are designed in alignment with the needs of the people.Additionally, Sham Lal Sharma emphasized the importance of long-term planning in the development of the constituency. He urged the officials to adopt a strategic approach by identifying critical areas requiring immediate attention and planning sustainable projects that cater to the growing needs of the population. Sharma reiterated that transparency, accountability, and public consultation must remain central to the execution of all development works to ensure that the outcomes align with the aspirations of the people.
Prominent local leaders, including Mandal Adhyaksh Rakesh Singh and Ex-Sarpanch Rohit Verma, joined Shri Sharma during the tour.
