Preserve, promote Shaivism to foster inclusive, harmonious society: Priya Sethi

JAMMU: Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP Vice President along with Priya Sethi, National Executive Member BJP and former minister today participated in the annual Bhandara of Shivacharya Swami Lakshmanjoo Maharaj on his the 117th Jayanti here at Bhagwati Nagar on Tuesday. They also sought blessings of Guru ji after paying obeisance at the Ashram.
On the occasion, Ravinder Tiku, Rajinder Tiku, Kulbhushan Qazi, Ashok ji , O.P Parihar and Dr K.K Pargotra accompanied the senior BJP leaders.
It is pertinent to mention that Swami Lakshmanjoo was the last living master in the glorious Guru Shishya lineage of Kashmir Shaivism. He was a rare jewel having a profound and deep understanding of philosophy and practices of Kashmir Shaivism. He spent his entire lifetime teaching the mystical tenets of Trika philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism to the seekers from all over the globe and was considered as the Abhinavgupta of modern times. Swami Lakshmanjoo’s contribution in the spread of Kashmir Shaiva philosophy has been marked as unmatched as he made these sets of values as most sought after across the world.
Yudhvir Sethi said that Shaivism in Kashmir has not confined to any religion rather everyone in the region showcased undaunted faith in this set of traditions forming the basis of multicultural society. He underscored the enduring faith that Kashmiri Pandit community have demonstrated in these traditions, illustrating how they serve as a unifying force, fostering mutual respect and understanding among communities.
Priya Sethi, highlighted the significant contribution of Swami Lakshmanjoo in promoting Shaivism. She emphasized his pivotal role in preserving and propagating the teachings and principles of Shaivism, which have deep roots in Kashmir’s cultural tapestry. Sethi acknowledged Swami Lakshmanjoo’s dedication to spreading the essence of Shaivism, which has helped in fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of this spiritual tradition among the masses. By recognizing Swami Lakshmanjoo’s efforts, she underscored the importance of honoring and commemorating individuals who have played instrumental roles in preserving Kashmir’s cultural and spiritual heritage for future generations.
Later, the senior BJP leaders met with Trustees and devotees and assured all possible support in promoting the teachings of Swami Lakshmanjoo ji Maharaj.
