JAMMU: Shaheedi Chowk Shopkeepers Association on Thursday felicitated the newly elected MLA Jammu East Constituency, Rajesh Gupta, here at a glittering function held in Shaheedi Chowk.
The office bearer of association including Harpreet Singh, Kunal Chadda, Rahil Paul and Rameshwar Sharma honoured the MLA Jammu East for his victory.
Expressing faith and confidence in his leadership, they raised certain issues and problems which they were confronting within the area. Shopkeepers said that people in the vicinity and visitors have to pass through difficult times in the absence of public conveniences and adequate parking space. They demanded Sulabh Shauchalaya and provision for parking of vehicles besides improvement in lanes and drains.
Rajesh Gupta, while addressing the shopkeepers, said that it was his earnest desire to work for the welfare of the people and since the people have provided him the mandate to fulfill his dream of making this constituency free from dearth of facilities, he will do his best to provide succour to people. He assured the shopkeepers that their demands will be considered on priority and very soon a state of art public conveniences block and parking facility for the visitors will be provided at suitable places.
Rajesh, Ramesh Sharma, Dalip Gupta, Sanjeev Singh, Vijay, Bodhraj and Manav accompanied the MLA at the function.
