SGPC celebrates foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib

JAMMU : Shirmani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Amritsar is centrally celebrating the 350th foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib, in Punjab where 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji created Khalsa Panth in 1699. Accordingly a three day long Yatra to the Holy Town of Sri Anandpur Sahib is being organised from Jammu and Kashmir State in coordination with Shiromani Dera Nagali Sahib, Poonch from 12th to 14th June, 2015 under the aegis of Shriman Mahant Manjit Singh ji.
A press conference in this direction was held at Digiana Ashram, Jammu by Daljit Singh Bedi Asst. Secy. and his team including Swam Singh Khalsa of Sikh Mission J and K, Tarvinder Singh Joint Secy., Balbir Singh and Kirpal Singh members of SGPC Amritsar in the presence of heads of various Sikh organisations of the State on Saturday.
He said Yatra will start from Digiana Ashram Jammu on 12th June at 8:00 AM and reach back on 14th June 2015. The nominal fare for the Yatra for different districts will include Jammu, Kathua and Samba Rs. 300 per seat, Distt. Rajouri Rs. 500, Poonch Rs 700, Udhampur Rs 500 and Srinagar Rs 1,000. About 70 buses are likely to be arranged to take the participants to Destination and back.
Mahant Manjit Singh Ji and the SGPC team have requested the Sikh Sangat to participate in the yatra in large number to make the historical day of the Sikh History a great success.
The other sikh organisations present at the press conference include, Sikh United Front, Bhai Kanya Nishkam Sewa society AISSF Sikh Welfare Society and Sikh Nojawan Sabha.
