Prostitution racket operating from residential house in Greater Kailash

JAMMU: In a significant crackdown on immoral trafficking and illegal activities, Jammu Police’s South Zone team busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from a residential house in the Greater Kailash area and rescued three girls while arrested three persons involved in the illegal trade.
According to police sources, acting on specific and reliable information about immoral activities being carried out at a house located in Lane No. 31, Greater Kailash, a police team conducted a well-planned raid at the premises owned by Amreek Singh, son of Netar Singh. The raid was conducted after it came to light that the house was allegedly being used as a hub for immoral trafficking, where women were being procured and induced into prostitution.
The operation was carried out by the In-charge Police Post Sainik Colony along with the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Channi Himmat, under the supervision of the SDPO City East and the overall supervision of SP City South Dr Ajay Sharma. Acting swiftly on the credible input, the police team raided the premises and found evidence suggesting the involvement of certain individuals in illegal prostitution activities.
Police said that during the raid it was revealed that girls were allegedly being brought to the location and engaged in prostitution in exchange for money. Following the intervention of the police team, three girls were rescued from the premises and taken into protective custody.
During the operation, the police also apprehended three persons, two males and one female, who were allegedly involved in running and facilitating the immoral trafficking activities from the house. The arrested individuals are currently being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
In this connection, FIR 62/2026 has been registered at Police Station Channi Himmat, Jammu, under Sections 3, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the wider network involved in the racket and to identify other persons who may have been linked to the illegal activities.
Officials said the action reflects the proactive policing approach adopted by Police in curbing crimes related to human trafficking and exploitation. The South Zone police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals.
Police authorities also stated that strict action will continue against those involved in such unlawful activities and that sustained efforts are being made to dismantle networks engaged in immoral trafficking across the city.
