RAJOURI. A major dereliction of duty on the part of government officials came to fore after several government offices were found closed and employees absent from duty during surprise inspection conducted by a team of district administration.
As per reports, district administration received complaints about dereliction of duty and ill functioning of government offices in Kotranka after which a team of district administration under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal visited the area and inspected several government offices at about 12:40 PM. During inspection of Tehsil Supply Officers Office Kotranka and Tehsil Social Welfare Office Kotranka, both these offices were found closed and all employees were absent from duty.
In Block Development Officers Office, only Guard Jamal Din was found present and all rest staff members were absent from duty whereas in Sheep Husbandry Office, only one chemist was found present while all the rest staff members were absent and in the Office of Zonal Education Officer Kotranka, only two masters namely Master Zahir Ahmed and Master Shabir Ahmed were found while rest of the staff was absent from duty.
During inspection in Agriculture Office Kotranka, only one clerk namely Mohammad Rafiq was found present and rest of the staff was absent whereas in Tehsil Revenue Office, only Naib Tehsildar, OQ and one peon were found present and rest of the staff was absent and in the Office of Power Development Department, only two linemen were found present and rest were absent. Similarly in Animal Husbandry Department, only one peon Liyaqit Ali was found present and rest staff members were absent and in Range Office Kotranka, only one Forester Nassar Ahmed and one peon were present with all the rest of staff absent from duty whereas in PWD Office Kotranka, only one peon was present and rest all staff members were absent.
Besides other government offices, in SDM Office Kotranka, only one teacher namely Abdul Salam was present and rest all officials were absent from duty.
Taking a strong notice of such large scale dereliction in duties by government officials, the controlling officers of offices have been directed to call for explanation of all such officials for further appropriate action.
