Seven candidates file nominations in 5 assembly constituencies

KULGAM/RAMBAN: Following commencement of submission of nominations under phase-I of the General Elections to Legislative Assembly Jammu and Kashmir, a total of seven candidates filed their nominations on Friday in three Assembly Constituencies of 38-D.H.Pora, 39-Kulgam and 40-Devsar in Kulgam district, two assembly constituencies of Ramban and Banihal and one assembly constituency of 44-Anantnag.
Among these candidates, Sakeena Itoo from JKNC and Abdul Majeed Padder from J&K Apni party submitted their nomination papers for AC 38-D.H.Pora in the office of Returning Officer.
In 39-Kulgam Assembly Constituency, Nazir Ahmad Laway from JKPC filed his nomination papers in the office of Returning Officer.
In AC 40-Devsar, Mohammad Sartaj Madni from JKPDP submitted his nomination papers in the office of Returning Officer.
Candidates can submit their nominations till August 27, 2024 up to 3PM.
Dr Mehboob Beg from JKPDP submitted his nomination papers in the office of Returning Officer 44-Anantnag AC. This was the first nomination filed so far in the district Anantnag.
The district comprises of seven Assembly Constituencies, nominations for which can be filed till 27th August.
Meanwhile, two candidates on filed their nomination papers in Ramban District for the upcoming Assembly Elections-2024.
According to Returning Officers for Assembly Constituencies AC 54-Ramban and AC 55-Banihal two candidates, one each filed their nomination papers.
The candidates, Imtiaz Ahmed Shan from PDP, filed his nomination papers in AC 55-Banihal and Suteesh Kumar filed his nomination papers as Independent candidate form AC 54-Ramban.
The last day for filing of nomination papers is August 27, 2024 upto 3:00 pm.
These Assembly Constituencies are scheduled to go for polls in the 1st phase of Assembly Elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on September 18, 2024.
