Semis lineup drawn in 34th Kathua Volleyball C’ship

HIRANAGAR: Semifinal positions have been cleared in the three-day 34th District Kathua Volleyball Championship-2022, organised by District Volleyball Association Kathua under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir at Govt Middle School Chhappar, Hiranagar, here on Saturday.
Teams reaching the last four stages included Gurah Mundian, Volleyball Club Bhaiya, Volleyball Club Upper Mela and Volleyball Club Hiranagar.
Earlier in the quarter-final matches played on Saturday, Gurah Mundian defeated Chhappar by 2-0 (26-24, 25-22); Volleyball Club Bhaiya defeated Lower Mela by 2-0 (25-23, 25-23); Upper Mela defeated Gara by 2-0 (25-17, 25-22) and Volleyball Club Hiranagar defeated Pathwal by 2-0 (25-16, 25-12).
In the pool-match, Volleyball Club Bhaiya defeated Gurah Mundian-B by 2-0 (25-22, 25 -19).
On second of the championship, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj, DySP SOG was the Chief Guest, who congratulated the participating and winner teams.
Besides office-bearers of District Volleyball Association Kathua M L Toofan President, Mohinder Sharma General Secretary, Surat Singh Vice-President, Madan Lal Coach and Ram Lal Joint Secretary, the prominent person present were Kamal Sharma President Mela Volleyball Club, Madan Lal, Roop Lal (retd Lecturers), Sham Lal Lecturer, Dayanand Mehta, Ram Tirath Khajuria, S.P Sharma and Ram Murti.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sahil Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Vivek Sharma and Prince Mehta.
