JAMMU: Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of Jammu, Satwari, Jourian and Akhnoor-Chowki Choura in the last four stages of the ongoing inter-zone under-19 boys’ cricket tournament of Jammu District, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at GGM Science College Ground, here on Wednesday.
Now, in the semifinals, scheduled for 26th August, Jammu zone shall take on Satwari Zone while Jourian-Khour shall be playing against Akhnoor-Chouki Choura.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, Satwari Zone defeated RS Pura- Miran Sahib Zone by 16 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, R S Pura-Miran Sahib made 83 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 15 overs. Harmohit Singh and Pavit Singh were top scorers with 23 and 20 runs respectively. Inderpal Singh and Rakshit of RS Pura Miran Sahib Zone took two and one wicket respectively.
In reply, RS Pura- Chowki Choura Zone was bowled out for 67 runs in 13.4 overs. Gaganjot and Sahil of RS Pura Miran Sahib were main scorers with 13 and 10 runs respectively. Harsh, Rahul Mehra and Anurag shared three wickets each from Satwari Zone.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ul-rehman, Sadhik Hussain, Suresh Singh, Madan Mohan, Farooq Ahmed, Jagtar Singh and Satika Sharma.
