JAMMU: Semifinal positions has been cleared in the two-day Firt Open Women’s Volleyball Tournament, organised by Trikuta Volleyball Club at Raipur Satwari, here on Thursday.
Teams reaching the last four stages included Trikuta Club, Army Public School (APS) BD Bari-B, Rajpur Club Jammu and APS BD Bari-A. Now, in the semifinals, scheduled for Friday, Trikuta Club shall take on APS BD Bari-B while Rajput Club has been pitted against APS BD Bari-A.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by Assistant Director, Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Rupenderjeet Kour, who was Chief Guest. Prominent among others present were Vishal Charak, Ravi Kumar, Vijay Sharma, Jameel Ahmed, Avtar Singh Chib, Kartar Singh, Manjeet Kour and Parveen Kour.
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of Amarjeet Singh and Mulkh Raj Sharma. Today’s matches were officiated by the technical penal including Asa Singh, Harpreet Bhalla, Mousmi Verma, Harish Sharma and Parminder Singh.
The Detailed Results: Trikuta Club beat Ladakh Banla 25-19, 25-18; Thunder Bolt defeated GWC Gandhi Nagar 25-12, 25-23; Rajput Club outplayed Akhnoor 25-18, 25-10; APS BD Bari A got walkover GWC Parade; Pinto Club trounced GHS Chowadi 25-17, 25-21; APSBD Bari beat Thunder Bolt 25-11, 25-18; Rajput Club Jammu defeated GWC Udhampur 25-20, 25-21; APS BD Bari downed Commerce College 25-22, 25-19.
