Seminar on water conservation held

JAMMU: Government MAM PG College, Jammu, on Saturday held a seminar on ‘Role of youth in Promoting Water Safety, Water Conservation and Proper Sanitation’ here.
The programme was organized by National Development Foundation J&K Jammu with sponsorship from Communication and Capacity Development Unit, Department of PHE, I&FC in collaboration with NSS unit of the College.
Dr Romesh Chander Principal Govt. MAM PG College was the Chief Guest during the programme and Prof Renu Nanda, Dr Banpreet Kour, Dr Shaveta Gandotra were the judges whereas the result was compiled by Dr Rakesh Koul (IQAC) Coordinator.
Manya Langer conducted the stage.
Others present during the seminar include Dr Sangeeta Sudan, T.K Sharma AEE PHE, Sunny Kumar PC NDF, Samiksha Gupta, college faculty and students.
Prerna Sharma secured the first position whereas Visha Dogra and Deepali Sharma secured second and third respectively. Fourth and fifth positions were secured by Shariq Bashir and Shruti Sharma.
Others participated in the events include Rashika, Palak, Ayushika, Anmol, Gaurav and Naresh.
Sunny Kumar, Programme Coordinator NDF presented key note address.
Participants were sensitized on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. Water testing through field testing kit was demonstrated by Sandeep and Sunita Devi.
Dr Romesh Chander asked students to be the brand ambassadors and sensitise communities and others on water safety, security and proper hygiene.
