JAMMU: The Association of Industries, Gangyal, on Thursday organised a seminar on export awareness under series of Niryat Bandhu.
The programme was organised under the chairmanship of M.K Nikhare, ITS, Dy. Director General of Foreign Trade in the presence of Vinod Behnal, General Manager, District Industries Centre, J and K, Rajesh Jain, President, AOI-Gangyal, S.B Abrol, General Secretary, AOI Gangyal and Ramesh Kumar Verma, ITS, Assistant Director General of Foreign Trade.
The programme started with the inaugural address of Nikhare in which he apprised the audience with role of DGFT in international trade. He stressed upon the need to enter international trade by the local industrialists which could not only enhance their vision but also make an impact of ‘Made in India’ in the world market.
Verma delivered a lecture on the various schemes available with DGFT to encourage exports from India with special reference to the concessions allowed to the exporters from J and K State. He briefed the participants with schemes like Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS), Service Export from India Scheme (SFIS), Advance Authorisation Scheme, Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG), etc of which only handful of exporters are taking benefit so far from the Regional Authority at Jammu.
