JAMMU: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has approved the Selection List for Outstanding Sportspersons, paving the way for 225 talented athletes to advance to the next stage of their sporting journey.
Sharing the development in social media post, J&K Sports Minister Satish Sharma expressed his delight over the approval and termed it a major boost for sports in the Union Territory. He extended his sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his support and prompt approval of the selection list.
The Sports Minister also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of officers and officials associated with the process, stating that their tireless work made the long-awaited approval possible.
“Sports in Jammu and Kashmir is growing stronger than ever,” Sharma wrote, reaffirming the government’s commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for young sportspersons to excel at national and international levels.
The approval of the selection list is being seen as a significant step towards strengthening the sports ecosystem in J&K and encouraging youth participation across disciplines.
