JAMMU: In a series of high-level visits aimed at strengthening security and ensuring law and order ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, Senior officers from Police/CRPF officers which include; ADGP Law & Order J&K, Vijay Kumar, ADGP CRPF J&K Zone Rajesh Kumar and ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, conducted an extensive review of the prevailing situation in the districts of Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban.
IG CRPF, IG CRPF Operations, DIG CRPF, DIG DKR Range, Army Commanding Officers, Adhoc COs of various Companies, ADDC’s and other officers of the each district besides Police Officers of these districts attend the meeting. During the meeting, SSP Kishtwar/Doda/Ramban, presented a detailed presentation on the current security scenario and the preparedness for the upcoming elections.
The presentation included insights into crime trends, security measures, and other essential aspects concerning upcoming Legislative Assembly Election security.
During the visit, the officers closely reviewed the security situation in the range, particularly in view of the recent developments and the evolving threat perceptions. Vijay Kumar emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security throughout the electoral process. He directed all participants to remain vigilant and proactive to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. He stressed the need for robust coordination between different security agencies to tackle any potential challenges during the election period. ADGP Law & Order J&K also underscored the importance of community engagement and building trust between the police and the public.
He urged officers to actively engage with local communities to gain their cooperation in maintaining law and order during the election period.
Additionally, he emphasized the need for officers to conduct public outreach programs to educate citizens on the importance of free and fair elections, encouraging them to participate without fear.
Rajesh Kumar stressed the importance of maintaining operational readiness at all times, ensuring that quick response teams are stationed at strategic locations.
He directed that mock drills and scenario-based exercises be conducted regularly to test the preparedness of the forces and fine-tune any response protocols for potential emergencies during the election period. ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, reviewed the deployment plans and directed the mobilization of additional forces in sensitive and vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incidents. He also highlighted the significance of intelligence gathering and timely sharing of information to address any security threats effectively.
In addition to security and law enforcement, the visit also focused on preparedness for the upcoming Assembly elections. The officers expressed confidence in the readiness of the security forces and civil administration in dealing with any potential law and order situations during the election period.
