Security agencies hold mock drill at Chichi Mata Temple

JAMMU: A joint mock drill by police and army was conducted at the Accommodation Centre built in the Chichi Mata Temple for the pilgrims of Baba Amarnath on Friday today to check the operational preparedness and coordination between various security agencies.
The exercise was presided over by DySP Garu Ram Bhardwaj, Special Squad of Jammu and Kashmir Police, (SOG) along with Inspector Shakeel Ahmed Manhas and officers and Soldiers of CRPF.
During the exercise session, the soldiers and officers had converted the entire temple into a cantonment.
DySP Garu Ram said that there are constant threats regarding the Amarnath Yatra, for which the security forces are ready.
He said that the temple of Chichi Mata is located on the Jammu Pathankot National Highway, where many travelers including Amarnath stay.
He also urged the devotees going to visit Amarnath that you should also be prompt and keep an eye on your surroundings because new challenges are being faced every day, sometimes with sticky bombs, revolvers, etc. are going.
He told that it is our utmost duty to protect Amarnath Yatri or any tourist who has come to visit Jammu and Kashmir
All the preventive measures necessitated to be taken during any terrorist strike as well as the reaction time of the Police, Army and other Security forces was observed during the drill.
