SRINAGAR: While touring various areas of the Srinagar city, the Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department Satish Nehru, along with Commissioner SMC Dr G.N Qasba, took stock of multiple sanitation drives started in Bemina Housing Colony, Boatman Colony and other adjoining areas by SMC, the statement issued today by corporation said.
“Ninety per cent garbage has been lifted from Bemina and it will take one day to make it free from filth” said Secretary, H&UDD, adding that SMC will fumigate all the households one by one after the removal of entire filth. He said a number of hopper vehicles along with the men and allied machinery has been put in service to clean those areas where the houses and other structures have remained under water for a long time.
While taking review of Gogji Bagh, Raj Bagh and Jawahar Nagar areas, Satish Nehru asked the concerned officers to start extensive and effective sanitation drive in these areas.
