Dear Editor,
I request the members of the Indian History Congress to read a good translation of the Sushruta Samhita (6th Century BCE) and chapter 16 on “Rhinoplasty practised in ancient India”. This is just a sample. There are several other surgeries described in this monumental work. The history of India and scientific methods practised are just not what the Anglo-Saxon world prescribed to this country. Let us not make sweeping observations condemning our own past out of ignorance.
