KATHUA: To discuss the arrangements for Republic Day celebrations, a meeting under the chairmanship of SDM, Billawar Rajeshwar Singh Charak was held at Billawar.
It was decided that the main function will be held at government Higher Secondary School, Billawar where the VIP will hoist the National Flag at 9:55 AM. The contingents drawn from Government as well as private educational institutions will participate in the march past .Cultural items based on the patriotic theme would be presented on the occasion.
The arrangements for security, drinking water, power supply, sanitation, barricading and medical facilities were also discussed in the meeting.
The SDM, Billawar exhorted upon the officers to make befitting arrangements to make the celebrations a success and said that the day should be celebrated with traditional gaiety and fervour.
Tehsildar, Tehsil level officers, principals of educational institutions were present in the meeting
Later, SDM also convened a meeting to review the arrangements for upcoming Voters Day to be held on 25th January 2015.
