SCERT Jammu celebrates International Women’s Day with inspiring interaction conference

JAMMU: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, under the visionary mentorship of Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director School Education Jammu and Director SCERT J&K, and the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT Jammu Division, organised a distinguished one day Interaction Conference on International Women’s Day at Kisan Kendra, Talab Tillo, here.

The conference stood as a vibrant celebration of women’s resilience, leadership, creativity, and transformative role in shaping society.
The event unfolded with a gracious reception of the distinguished guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a timeless symbol of wisdom dispelling darkness and of empowerment illuminating pathways to progress. The ambience resonated with reverence and anticipation as Monica Sharma, Associate Coordinator of the programme, delivered a poised and heartfelt Welcome Address. With thoughtful articulation and warmth, she set an inspiring tone for the day.
The Joint Director, SCERT, Jammu Division, Prof. Dr. Sindhu Kapoor, delivered a stirring and visionary address, eloquently underscoring the indispensable role of women as architects of educational transformation and ethical governance.
She emphasized that true progress of a society is measured by the dignity, opportunity, and leadership accorded to its women. A special highlight of the event was the display of the SHE Portal, reaffirming SCERT’s commitment to equity, and empowerment.
The audience was deeply moved by a reflective poem presented by Dr. Jyoti Sudan, Academic Officer, followed by a compelling documentary showcasing milestones, inspiring journeys, stories of resilience, perseverance and leadership that have redefined societal narratives.

The guests appreciated the thoughtful organisation of the conference and expressed their gratitude for being part of such a meaningful initiative.
The dignitaries were felicitated for their exemplary contributions in their respective fields. An engaging “Heart of Emotion” activity fostered warmth and collective reflection among participants. A plenary session, led by Arti Gupta, Paawan Vivek, and Vivek Jandial, sparked meaningful deliberations on inclusive growth and leadership pathways for women. The discussion also highlighted various researches, capacity building programmes, awareness drives on Gender Sensitization and other initiatives undertaken by SCERT J and K.
The cultural segment added grace and vibrancy to the celebration, featuring a captivating dance performance by Ms. Ruchi Mohan and soulful musical presentation by Principal, Ms. Shamim Nazki.
The successful conduct of the programme was attributed to the meticulous coordination of Manu Vasudeva, Academic Officer while Rakesh Chobber and Vivek Jandial efficiently managed the technical aspects. Their efforts, complemented by the support of a dedicated organising team whose collaborative spirit ensured flawless execution, transformed the conference into a truly impactful and memorable celebration. The programme culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Sanjeevani, Assistant Professor.
