SC to hear JKNPP petition on Guv Rule today

JAMMU: Supreme Court of India shall hear the writ petition on 5th August, 2016 filed by J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) seeking direction to the Government of India to advice Governor of J&K to impose Governor Rule in J&K under Section 92 of J&K Constitution. The petition has urged the Supreme Court for its intervention in the interest of justice, equity and for return of peace in the Valley of Kashmir which has remained locked since 8th July, 2016. After hearing Prof. Bhim Singh, Senior Advocate appearing for the Panthers Party, the Division Bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice T.S. Thakur had directed Solicitor General to take instructions and file its status report regarding ground situation in Valley regarding adequate provisions for medical emergencies, essential commodities, and facility to students for appearing in competitive examinations besides law and order scenario.
