SAYSS to commemorate 8th year of Martyrdom

JAMMU: To commemorate the 8th year of Martyrdom Day of those who laid down their lives during the historic Shri Amarnath land agitation in 2008, Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) is going to organise a function on 28th August 2016 at Geeta Bhawan, Parade Ground.
“To pay tributes to the martyrs and honour the families of the martyrs of land row agitation Samiti would organise a function,” Convenor of the Samiti, Pawan Kohli told reporters.
The function, he said, will begin with Hawan at 9:30 AM followed by Shardhanjalis and distribution of Prasad.
Besides prominent personalities, activists of the Samiti and families of the Martyrs will join the function which will be presided over by Maha Mandleshwar 1008 Shri Swami Divya Nand Sarswati Ji Maharaj, Kailash Vidyadham Ashram, Chinore, Bantalab.
Narayan Singh, President Amar Khatriya Rajput Sabha will be the Special Chief Guest.
Samiti expressed serious concern over the situation created by the anti-national elements to disturb the Amarnath Yatra and failure of the government to deal with it.
“Government also failed to fulfill the implementation of the agreement entered into between the Samiti and then government, even after the lapse of complete eight years,” he said.
Samiti also condemned the recent incidents of attack and stone pelting on the Amarnath pilgrims and particularly on the oil tankers supplying fuel to the Valley and demanded stern action against the responsible anti-national elements.
Samiti also warned the government that if such activities of the anti-national elements are not checked forthwith, the Samiti will be compelled to adopt the agitation path.
