Satish Sharma visits Chhamb, interacts with delegations

JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, Science & Technology and Information Technology, Satish Sharma, on Friday conducted an extensive tour of Chhamb constituency.
The Minister visited several places including Neeli Nallah, Battal, Jogwan, Bardoh, Thanger, Kachrial, Chowdrwala and many other places where he met various delegations, inspected different projects and also inaugurated drilling work of three tube wells.
Satish Sharma paid obeisance at Dev Sthan Mallah where he interacted with local residents and enquired about their grievances/issues.
The local residents raised many issues pertaining to their respective areas including construction of link roads, staff strength of teachers in schools and doctors in PHCs, streamlining of ration card issuance, irregular power and water supply, playgrounds besides related matters concerning welfare and development of their respective areas.
The Minister assured that the issues raised by them would be taken up with the concerned authorities and all public grievances and concerns would be addressed promptly.
While addressing the people, the Minister said that he will work with utmost zeal and vigour to bring enhanced development and prosperity in the region.
Satish Sharma asked the officers of the line departments to put in their sincere efforts in rendering their services to the people of the state. He instructed them to work in synergy so that people don’t face any kind of inconvenience.
He also inaugurated drilling work of three tubewell at Jogwan, Battal and Kallah.
The Minister was apprised that all three tubewell have been commissioned under JJM scheme at an estimated cost of 76.45 lakh each with disbursement capacity of 5000 Gallon/Hour.
While inaugurating the tubewell, Satish Sharma said that these tube wells will help in augmentation of water supply system addressing the issue of water crisis in the area.
The Minister directed the officers to ensure timely completion of all development works and cautioned them against any unnecessary delay in execution of these vital works.
The Minister said that the recently formed government is committed towards satiating developmental aspirations of people while taking care that no one is deprived of his basic requirements and all are served equally.
He also visited Assan Shiv Mandir, where an encounter broke out following an attack on army convoy and three terrorist was killed during the counter terror operation.
Later, Satish Sharma distributed cricket kits, football and volleyball to the children and encouraged them to adopt sports to remain physically and mentally fit and stay away from drugs.
