Sat faces public wrath, manhandled

JAMMU: BJP MLA from Jammu West and BJP State President Sat Sharma on Friday faced public wrath with a volatile segment of people allegedly manhandling him during inauguration of various developmental work in his constituency.
As per reports, BJP MLA Sat Sharma who had gone to start some development work in Lane No 1, Bakshi Nagar area here this morning was manhandled by some locals including retired police personnel over his poor performance in the constituency.
The agitated residents alleged that the lawmaker failed in developing his constituency and keeping up promises made during electioneering.
On receiving the information, a police party of Bakshi Nagar Police Station rushed to the spot and defused the situation. Some protestors were also detained.
“We have taken action into the incident,” Dy SP Nikhil Rasgotra, SDPO West said.
Meanwhile, J&K Congress spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the level of resentment against the non-performing PDP-BJP coalition has increased manifold, which is manifesting in protests and demonstrations all over.
