JAMMU: In order to address the electricity problems of areas in Jammu West, State Vice President BJP and MLA Sat Sharma (CA) directed Power Development Department (PDD) officials to immediately install the new transformers so that people get a sigh of relief in this scorching heat.
Sat on Wednesday visited Vasant Vihar, Kabir Colony, Tirath Nagar, Aman Vihar and Gole Gujral areas of Talab Tillo where there is a dire need of new transformers. PDD and JMC officials were accompanied the MLA.
Sat said that the main motive of his tour was to check the spots along with department officials where new transformers could be installed in order to solve the problems and the installation of new transformers will be done in these five areas within a period of few days.
He said from many years shortage of electricity has been one of the main concerns for the people of Jammu West in summer season and the work on same is been going on by installing new transformers so that basic necessities of the public would be met.
The MLA also toured Poonch House Quarters area of Talab Tillo where last night main transformer was burnt along with wires besides people of Poonch House, Shankar Vihar and Kabir Colony areas also faced problems due to non availability of power. Sharma instructed the PDD officials to look into the matter and immediately change of transformers.
