Sargam of DPS Jammu brings laurels in singing competition

JAMMU: Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu participated in the Inter-DPS Zonal Singing Competition at DPS Amritsar on July 29, 2017 in group and solo singing category.
Out of the eleven teams from different branches of DPS in the north zone, Sargam Sharma of Class VIII-G of DPS Jammu bagged third prize in solo singing category. She was accompanied by Mukul Singh of class IX-H on Harmonium, Lakshay Jandial of class VII-G on Tabla, Parush Sharma of class IX-F on Dholak, Ridhima Bajpai of class VI-A on Tambourine and Suhani Sharma of class VI-A on rhythm with claps.
Sargam presented a Sufi song specially composed by Jai Paul Gill, which won the heart of the audience. The team was accompanied by Jai Paul Gill and Saurabh Sharma. The other participants were Shivam Raj (IX-D) and Parmatam Dev Singh (IX-I).
The competition was judged by the renowned professors of Panjab University.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra congratulated the whole team, Sargam and Jai Paul Gill, who had trained the singer. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta also extended her best wishes to all participants. President RCT, Ajatshatru Singh, Pro Vice Chairperson, Ritu Singh and Director, S.S Sodhi also conveyed their best wishes to winner and participants.
